Who We Are

fogpanther.com and the Fog Panther store are operated by Lukemani ("we", "us"). This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit this website, create an account, buy a license or contact us. It also covers the free-trial data our server receives from the Fog Panther software. The software itself is governed by its own license agreement, which describes exactly what it sends.

Information We Collect

• Account information — your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash). If you buy without an account, we create one from the details you give at checkout.
• Purchase information — the license you bought, its price, the date, and the order references our payment processor returns. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.
• License keys — the license keys you buy, kept with your account so you can download them again.
• Support requests — the subject and message of any support request you send us, linked to your account, and any emails we exchange about it.
• Site usage and downloads — the pages you visit, the packages you download, and whether an install with our install script succeeded; your IP address, browser and device type, the referring site, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. If you are signed in, your visits are linked to your account. Our servers also keep request logs to run and secure the site.
• Free trial — when you start the free trial, the Fog Panther software sends our server a one-way hash that identifies the installation, the platform and the app version. We record when it first and last checked in and how often, the IP address of the latest check, and an approximate location. No name or email address is sent.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in, an optional "remember me" cookie, and our own first-party cookies for site statistics and your time zone. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. You can block cookies in your browser; signing in and checkout need the session cookie.

How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account.
• To process purchases and deliver your license keys.
• To send you emails about your account and purchases, such as license delivery, account confirmation and password resets. We do not send marketing emails.
• To answer your support requests.
• To run the free trial and prevent its abuse.
• To keep the site secure and prevent fraud and abuse.
• To understand how the site is used — for example, how many people visit and download, from which countries, and where they came from.
• To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

Legal Bases

Where data protection laws such as the GDPR apply, we process your information to perform our contract with you (your account and purchases), for our legitimate interests (running, securing and improving the site, running the free trial, and understanding how the site and software are used), and to comply with legal obligations (for example, keeping purchase records).

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the site, and only as needed for their service:

• Stripe — payment processing.
• Brevo — delivering our emails.
• ipinfo.io — estimating location from IP addresses.
• Our hosting provider, whose servers run this site.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our users or the public. These providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States; where required, they do so under appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

How Long We Keep It

We keep your account information for as long as your account is open. Purchase records are kept for as long as we need them for tax and accounting purposes, even if you close your account. Usage, download and trial records have no fixed expiry date; you can ask us to delete those linked to your account, IP address or installation. Server logs are kept only as long as needed to operate and secure the site.

Security

Connections to this site are encrypted, passwords are stored only as secure hashes, and card payments are handled entirely by Stripe. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy of it, or object to or restrict how we use it. To make a request, including to close your account, email us at admin at fogpanther.com . We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
